A tour inspired by the movie Crazy Rich Asians based on the book by Kevin Kwan – a story set in Singapore featuring the lives of the insanely rich.
This 2-3 hour tour brings you around some of the movie’s locations, some of which are set in Singapore’s key heritage areas in slightly out of the way enclaves of old shophouses, cafes and hangouts, and the historic former Catholic convent and second oldest building in the country, Chijmes, location of the famous marriage scene.
Eat your heart out too, as the group hits one of the country’s famous Hawker Centres for a food break!
Throughout the ride you’ll be travelling on vespa sidecars, attached to vintage scooters many of which were made in Singapore pre-independance at the old Singapore Vespa Factory. You’ll be exploring heritage, on a piece of heritage. Each sidecar comes with it’s own trained driver, so all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the breeze.
The 3 hour version of the tour is well suited to MICE and corporate groups, and includes a movie mystery activity – depending on availability at the time, this could be anything from traditional dumpling making to a traditional Mahjong session to a tea session with some fabulously wealthy Taitais (housewives).
The Crazy Rich Sidecars Tour is a collaboration between Singapore Sidecars and Hian Goh, Founder of the Asian Food Channel.
